General Electric (GE) Oil and Gas are creating 200 new roles to expand their operations in Bristol 19/12/2012
The company's Aberdeen headquarters, GE's Oil & Gas Subsea Systems business, plans to increase its UK presence by creating a new subsea centre in Bristol, at the city's Aztec West Business Park.
The roles will be created at the new centre by 2013 with a range of opportunities available for engineering, project management and commercial professionals.
GE Oil and Gas has previously been expanding its existing facilities in the UK. Earlier this year, GE announced a £9million investment in its Montrose manufacturing plant which created 40 jobs.
Rod Christie, vice president for Subsea Systems at GE Oil & Gas, said, 'Establishing a stronger presence in Bristol will enable us to bring new and much needed skilled staff into our global organisation, supporting the capabilities of our existing subsea hub in Aberdeen.'
'The area has a strong pool of high integrity industries, such as aerospace, defense, nuclear and automotive that we can tap into, allowing us to realise our growth goals more readily.
GE Oil & Gas employs 550 people in Bristol and the company's headquarters in Aberdeen employs more than 800 people.
