Latest news : Online classes for accountancy students

BPP has launched an online study classroom for ACCA and CIMA programmes. 05/01/2012

The online tool is for professionals working towards their accountancy qualifications with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Two tutors will deliver the interactive class which will be attended remotely by students. One tutor will present and the other will answer questions.

‘Whilst people are committed to achieving professional qualifications, real life does get in the way sometimes - work, travel and home life can impact on study plans. We’ve designed Online Classroom Live to give people the chance to learn in a way that fits into any lifestyle - they can study where and whenever they like,’ said Malcolm Bell from BPP.

The programme will be designed so students can engage in interactive live sessions, as well as access pre-recorded sessions to complete syllabus coverage. It is hoped that this dual approach will boost students’ learning experience.

The combination of an award-winning online classroom with live interaction is the first of its kind in the professional training market, and it is anticipated that there will be a strong demand for this mode in the future.

The new programme currently covers ACCA Skills Module papers and CIMA Operational and Management papers, with further papers to follow later in the year.

BPP also plans to extend the online live offering across a range of its other programmes during the next 12 months.
