Latest news : Online gaming

L’Oréal, one of the UK’s top graduate recruiters and the world’s largest cosmetics company, has strengthened its online recruitment strategy by launching the online recruitment game Reveal.

This unique game sees candidates taking on the avatar character of a new recruit at L’Oréal and entering a virtual L’Oréal headquarters. The character interacts with other virtual employees and undertakes tasks and challenges, gaining points along the way. Players’ skills are revealed as they learn about the L’Oréal culture and the different job roles that the company offers.

At the end of the game, players are given personalised feedback on how the different jobs at L’Oréal would suit them – with everything from marketing, engineering, science and finance included. Players with the highest points are invited to attend an actual interview with L’Oréal.

Thomas Riegel, Recruitment Director at L’Oréal UK & Ireland comments. ‘At L’Oréal we are committed to attracting the best talent worldwide. Reveal allows us to seek out top talent whilst also promoting our company’s culture and values to prospective employees.

‘Reveal is unlike more traditional recruitment games as it focuses on candidates’ unique, personal skills rather than focusing on their education or career background, allowing us to reach out to skilled and talented individuals, who may have been overlooked by other recruitment routes.’

The Reveal game can also be used by anyone online as a free resource for those interested in exploring a range of career options, helping graduates to get firsthand experience of what career might suit them.

L’Oréal is repeatedly ranked as a top graduate employer, rated 11th in this year’s Guardian Top 300 graduate employers list and as fourth best graduate employer amongst business students from this year’s Universum study of 20,000 students across Europe. The Times Top 100 also rated L’Oréal as the number one UK graduate employer for students interested in Marketing and Sales and the 2nd best FMCG employer.
