PricewaterhouseCoopers is set to create 247 high-quality jobs after enterprise minister Arlene Foster reveals Belfast will expand its operations. 07/10/2011
PwC’s planned investment will see the global business consultants and advisers increase exports from Northern Ireland by developing three centres of excellence at its headquarters in Belfast.
Invest Northern Ireland has offered £1.765million of support to secure the project for Northern Ireland.
‘One of Invest Northern Ireland’s key objectives is to support the creation of high-quality jobs that pay above the Northern Ireland private sector average. The new jobs being created by PwC all offer salaries significantly higher than that average and will boost the local economy by generating over £8million a year in additional salaries by 2014,’ said Arlene.
PwC is one of the largest professional services firms in the world with more than 161,000 staff in 154 countries.
In Northern Ireland, PwC is part of the PwC UK firm, with offices in Belfast, Dungannon and Omagh employing around 800 people.
‘PwC has provided a significant contribution to the Northern Ireland economy over a number of years and this further investment is to be welcomed, particularly given the ongoing global economic climate and increasing competition for such high value investment projects from other global locations,’ added Arlene.
