Entry requirements: PhD: The normal minimum entrance requirement is an upper second class honours degree or master's degree, relevant to the proposed area of study, from a recognised higher education institution in the UK. You should also have experience of academic research in the previous four years, normally in the form of either a master's degree in research methods, an undergraduate degree with a research element in the final year, or work-related experience with evidence through research reports. Course description: The Development Policy and Practice Group carries out research in development studies and development management and co-hosts the ESRC INNOGEN Research Centre on innovation in life sciences which is run jointly with the University of Edinburgh. The group has extensive networks within and outside the University. In the UK the group works closely with academics from a range of development studies institutes and with a consortium of non-governmental organisations. Internationally, it has research and teaching collaborations with staff and institutions from more than 20 countries. It has developed a facilitative capacity to bring people together to work in new programmes, courses and research. We offer three research degree programmes: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Master of Research (MRes).
