The course will be based on 11 taught modules together with a series of case studies followed by a substantive research project at the end of the course. All teaching will be delivered by international leaders in their respective fields from the partner institutions, supplemented by keynote lectures and workshops given by outside experts from industry or academia.

This demanding and ambitious new MRes in Ecosystem-Based Management of Marine Systems provides students with both ecological and physical science expertise as well as quantitative skills in the science needed to manage ecosystems sustainably. Students study marine environments from the tropics to polar regions as integrated systems, exploring interconnections between the physical environment, biodiversity and the impacts of human activity and resource use.
