The Open University - Faculty of Health and Social Care
Research in the area of children, young people and families spans across three faculties and brings together academics and research students conducting social, sociological and psychological research into the lives of children and young people and policy / practice applications. Academics working in this area work collaboratively with academics and students across the University who are interested in children and young people, including the International Development Centre, the Centre for Research in Education and Educational Technology (CREET) and the Centre for Citizenship, Identities and Governance (CCIG).

The research activities of some 300 members of staff are carried out in Academic Units within the School of Medicine at a number of sites within the university, Leeds General Infirmary, St James's University Hospital and other local hospitals. The School maintains a strong commitment to postgraduate research and there are over 300 students studying for research degrees on a full-time or part-time basis.
