Students on this programme should have a strong interest in conservation and business with a view to working for a conservation-related business or in a leadership role in conservation NGOs. Some students, with a more business background, but with a strong passion for biodiversity conservation should also apply, as you are given the opportunity to study a range of modules focused on conservation science, policy and practice.
The Value Chain Management MSc is a progressive new programme ? the only one in the UK to be doubly accredited by the Chartered Institute for Purchase and Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
The aim of these general management programmes is to enable graduates with less than three years' work experience and from any disciplinary background to pursue a career in management. Special interest pathways provide opportunities for students to concentrate on a specific functional area of management.
The Master's in Management (Marketing) pathway gives you further insight into the different activities associated with marketing, such as meeting the needs of consumers through market research, product design and different communication strategies. This pathway has a higher level of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) accreditation for those interested in pursuing their career in marketing.
The Master's in Management Science equips you with advanced quantitative and analysis skills to support decision making, identify the best course of action in complex business situations and optimise processes, procedures and performance. Emphasis is placed on learning fundamental techniques from the fields of management science and operational research, and being able to apply mathematical modelling in an objective way to help solve complex strategic, operational and managerial planning problems.
This MSc offers you an insight into the principal areas of managing human resources (HR) by providing critical assessment of the human resource management (HRM) and employment relations (ER) approach. Our teaching staff are members of the University's Centre for Employment Competitiveness and Growth, which was established in 2003 to develop world-class research and knowledge transfer activities via a multidisciplinary approach to human resource management and operations management.
This programme develops your knowledge and understanding of organisations, the external framework in which they operate and how they are managed. It enables you to identify processes, procedures and practices for effective management and to understand international business environments and global perspectives on business and management issues.
