    The purpose of the course is to provide a pre-professional qualification equivalent to a bachelor degree in psychology, which confers eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and allows a student to proceed to postgraduate training, including higher degrees by research, and to specialise in an area of professional psychology. It is a two year full-time course based on lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes and research projects.

On successful completion of the programme students are eligible to apply for registration as a Children's Nurse (RCN) with An Bord Altranais.
