The Irish labour market is interwoven with that of Europe as a whole; much Irish employment policy stems from the European Union; the regulation of employment is one distinctive feature of the European Social Model. These courses provide a rigorous understanding of these issues by linking the sociology of work to industrial relations, human resource management and public policy; they comprise substantive modules on different aspects of work and employment policy and an introduction to relevant research methodologies.
