We offer a flexible range of part-time and distance learning options if you want to combine study with your other commitments at home or work. Our Cambridge campus is conveniently located right at the heart of the city, in East Road, putting its many attractions right on your doorstep. We're justifiably proud of our very modern campus, which offers a superb environment for learning as well as opportunities for pursuing your interests and socialising.

In 1858, John Ruskin opened the School of Art in Cambridge, laying the foundation for our Cambridge campus, located in the heart of the city centre on East Road.

Our investment in our Cambridge campus has produced amazing facilities, not just for teaching but for socialising as well, ensuring the development caters for the entire student experience.

Facilities include:

  • 400-seat lecture theatre
  • Two 200-seat lecture theatres
  • Harvard-style lecture theatre
  • 266-seat Mumford Theatre
  • Ruskin Gallery with its groundbreaking digital exhibition space
  • Open-access area with 250 new computers
  • On-site library which is well-stocked and open 24 hours during semester time
  • Roof terraces and courtyards to relax between lectures
  • Four catering outlets, including Costa Coffee and a refectory with a selection of hot and cold meals

Our Chelmsford site, known as the Rivermead campus, is a 10-minute walk from the city centre in a picturesque location on the banks of the river Chelmer. Rivermead is a thoroughly modern campus with a wealth of green open spaces, and just a short walk from the Chelmer Valley Local Nature Reserve.

Rivermead campus has undergone a significant amount of investment in recent years with most of the buildings being under 10 years old and packed with all the state-of-the-art facilities you would expect.

Facilities include:

  • Spacious and well-stocked on-site library
