Established in 1884, Bangor University offers a first-rate environment for study, where our teaching is informed by world-leading research (RAE 2008). Situated in "The best university setting in the UK" (The Independent's 'A-Z of Universities'), Bangor offers a great quality of life alongside an educational experience that seeks both to underpin and to develop the potential of its postgraduate students.

Internationally recognised

Bangor's postgraduate community comprises over 2000 students from all over the world, who have chosen to study at Bangor based on its international reputation, its huge variety of subject expertise and the attraction of studying within a research-led university supervised by leading academics in their field.

In recent years Bangor University has risen substantially in Times Higher Education World University rankings, and is now placed among the world's top 300 universities.

Continued investment in postgraduate study

The University believes strongly in investment in postgraduate study, reflected by the breadth and scope of our research facilities and the on-going development of postgraduate scholarship opportunities. In 2012 we announced the next phase of our 125th Anniversary Research Scholarships scheme, a five-year programme of postgraduate expansion that began in 2009 and continues to provide numerous funding opportunities to the very best students to work with our leading academic figures.

Committed to developing provision for students

The University is currently undertaking construction of a £40M Arts and Innovation Centre, one of the most exciting initiatives of its kind in Europe. The Centre will provide social and academic spaces in a unique and pioneering setting...
