Durham University is distinctive - a collegiate University with ancient traditions and modern values. It is a truly magical place to live and study, offering students the opportunity to experience the very best of British education and culture. It's no surprise that we are consistently ranked amongst the top 10 universities in the UK and the top 100 institutions in the world. Outstanding Environment

Our University is situated in two distinct locations - Durham City and Queen's Campus, Stockton.

With a UNESCO World Heritage Site at its heart, Durham is a beautiful, compact city in North East England. The city has a rich heritage and culture, with the world-famous Castle and Cathedral sitting on top of a peninsula overlooking the river Wear. The panoramic view of the Cathedral and Castle has been described as one of the finest architectural experiences of Europe.

Our Queen's Campus at Stockton is located 23 miles from Durham City and occupies stunning, state-of-the-art facilities in an outstanding waterfront location by the river Tees. It's a small, friendly community, and although no building is more than 15 years old, the Campus is developing a character of its own.

A World-class learning experience

"Durham University's high quality teaching, rated excellent in 24 subjects, is underpinned by world-class research. A place at Durham is one of the most sought-after in Britain".
