Bath is a cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural heritage. Located on the river Avon, the city of Bath takes its name from the Roman baths which can still be visited today, making the city a major tourist destination.
Small enough to explore on foot, Bath has big high street names, designer brands, top restaurants, pubs, delis, museums, theatres and a spa sat amongst stunning Georgian architecture.
The city also regularly plays host to sporting events, including Rugby Union and the Bath Half Marathon. The city is also home to high-profile actors, artists, fashion designers and athletes.
Bath is only one of three cities in the world to be included on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
25% of the students at the University of Bath come from outside the UK. The University provides dedicated advice and support, including an orientation programme and a mentoring scheme to help students settle into life in the UK.
