Research Institutes at Robert Gordon University

Our creative and innovative environment is reflected by industry relevant research which informs many of our degrees.The focus at Robert Gordon University is on applied research. An integral part of our purpose is to build a research base of staff and students who undertake highly relevant leading-edge research that advances knowledge and provides tangible benefits to the wider economy and society

RGU has world class researchers in allied health professions, computer science, engineering, architecture, accounting and finance, business and management, library and information management, and art and design. Our three Research Institutes provide the focus for delivery of research and knowledge transfer within the University. These are:

• Institute for Innovation, Design & Sustainability (IDEAS)
• Institute for Management, Governance and Society Research (IMaGeS)

Based within the Faculties, membership of the Institutes crosses the boundaries with each institute being thematic, rather than discipline based, and carrying out research which is relevant to the external community. Accommodation

We are committed to providing safe, secure and affordable accommodation for our students. Residents have access to staff or Residence Assistants (RA's) to offer advice, assistance and support 24 hours a day. We know that there is more to University life than studying, so our flats cater for more than your academic needs. Each study bedroom is equipped to provide a private place to relax or revise, and each flat contains a communal living area where flatmates and friends can socialise. Student Support

We have a substantial student support network that includes careers advice, study support, counselling and wellbeing service and our Disability and Dyslexia Service, all of which are staffed by qualified and experienced professionals.

Sports facilities

RGU: SPORT is the University's £11 million sports centre. Facilities include an impressive climbing wall spanning three levels, a 25-metre swimming pool, three gyms and a versatile main sports hall for indoor hockey, badminton, tennis and 5-a-side football. There are a range of classes on offer for people of all fitness levels and discounted membership is available for RGU students.

Fees & funding at Robert Gordon University

Postgraduate students will normally make their own arrangements for payment of fees. However, there are a limited number of funded places available for postgraduate courses. We also offer our alumni a 10% loyalty discount on postgraduate course fees.

We hold Postgraduate Open Evenings throughout the year, which give prospective students a chance to come and see the university and meet academics for face to face discussions and questions on their course options.
