The University's portfolio of both taught and research postgraduate programmes reaches across areas of excellence recently assessed as world-leading - our strengths in science, engineering and medicine complemented by expertise in business, law, social science and the arts and humanities. Among the courses on offer are full and part-time accredited MBAs and conversion courses in Computer Science, Business, Medicine and Law.

Those enrolling on postgraduate programmes at Swansea join a postgraduate community of more than 2,000 students from over 100 countries. Our Library and Information Centre provides access to an extensive collection of research materials, dedicated postgraduate study and IT areas and specialist teams of subject librarians to help postgraduate students at all stages of their research. Staff from the Careers Service help postgraduate students to develop their skills and support their search for employment, and International students have access to their own specialist international student careers advisor.

As well as access to world-class facilities, postgraduate students at Swansea benefit from the University's strong links with industry and research organisations. Recent collaborative research projects have included work with Microsoft, Cancer Research UK and IBM - the latter a partnership to build the University's £50 million Institute of Life Science, housing one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers. Current projects include the Bloodhound venture which aims to take the world land speed record to 1,000mph and which draws upon expertise within the Schools of Engineering and Environment and Society.

The postgraduate experience at Swansea goes beyond research and teaching excellence: Students at Swansea enjoy a spectacular seafront campus with excellent facilities including a first-class sports village and Olympic pool. The city itself is a culturally rich and diverse modern metropolis with a maritime atmosphere, boasting all the social and recreational amenities of a progressive University city. Recent developments include the brand new £24 million Liberty Stadium and the £200 million SA1 Swansea Waterfront. The natural environment around Swansea is perfect for outdoor pursuits with the Gower Peninsula - the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - ideal for surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and mountain biking.

The University invests significantly in postgraduate study each year. With research studentships worth over £16,600 per year available as well as Master's bursaries in every academic school, a reputation for innovative and internationally excellent research and teaching, a stunning seaside location, and an award-winning student experience, it is no wonder that Swansea University is one of the most popular destinations for postgraduate study in Wales.
