Studying at University is a huge decision. It's why student choice is at the centre of our philosophy - we offer flexible study options, strong links with local employers and student input into how our courses are run. We want our students - full and part time - to make the best decision of their life. We engage with business and focus on getting students skilled up (or even more skilled up) for their career - so many of our courses come with professional accreditation, integrated placements and work experience. We help provide the skills, knowledge and experience; our students bring their passion, commitment and hard work.

Student profile

"This MA course has been excellent. As well as my subject, illustration, there are lots of specialist areas - decorative interior crafts, design for sustainable futures, design marketing, graphic communication, interior architecture, interior design and product design.

I'm doing the course part time so that I can support myself by working. The staff are very supportive and accommodating. A useful part has been the emphasis on preparing for the world of work, either as an employee or in our own business. The teaching staff have relevant, varied industrial and professional experience, so they know what they're talking about. I feel well prepared to market my skills through the web - I can succeed as well in the North East as in London."

MA Future Design
