Only ninety minutes from London by train, the University is consistently ranked in independent league tables as one of the top ten universities in the UK. Masters courses and Research degreesThe University offers a broad range of Masters courses and Research degrees. Subjects include engineering, design, humanities, social science, management and science. In 2008 the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) confirmed the world class standing of our activity, ranking the University in the top 20 for research. From developing new drugs to cure breast cancer, to working with Ford to develop fuel-efficient engines, we carry out research that makes a difference to society.

The campusSet in attractive rural grounds, the University's purpose built campus overlooks the historic city of Bath. Based around a central parade, lecture theatres, laboratories, the library, shops, refectories and halls of residence are in easy walking distance of each other. The campus also includes the Sports Training Village which is home to medal-winning Olympic athletes. It is also the official preparation camp for the Paralympics GB team. The University recently announced plans to invest £100 million in its campus, with the aim of improving teaching and research facilities. Bath is a cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural heritage. Located on the river Avon, the city of Bath takes its name from the Roman baths which can still be visited today, making the city a major tourist destination. Small enough to explore on foot, Bath has big high street names, designer brands, top restaurants, pubs, delis, museums, theatres and a spa sat amongst stunning Georgian architecture. The city also regularly plays host to sporting events, including Rugby Union and the Bath Half Marathon. The city is also home to high-profile actors, artists, fashion designers and athletes. Bath is only one of three cities in the world to be included on UNESCO's World Heritage list. International students25% of the students at the University of Bath come from outside the UK. The University provides dedicated advice and support, including an orientation programme and a mentoring scheme to help students settle into life in the UK.
