About University of Brighton

The University of Brighton is a thriving university with a community of over 3,000 postgraduate students from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities, studying at outstanding locations on the south coast of England.

Accredited courses

The university takes a career-focused approach to learning and many of our 180 postgraduate courses are recognised and accredited by leading professional bodies. Some courses offer exchanges and collaborations with our research partners in industry, public services and other professional associations, providing opportunities to gain valuable work-related experience.

Flexible study

The university offers a range of flexible study options which allow students to study full or part-time, and balance their work, lives and study. For students who want to join the university for continuing personal development, there are opportunities to study individual masters-level modules.

Research-active community

The University of Brighton’s research has been recognised for having a direct impact on the world, our communities and how we live. The latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) rated 88 per cent of the university’s submitted research as having 'outstanding' or 'very considerable' impact beyond academia.

Scholarships

The university offers a range of funding to support UK, EU and international postgraduate students, which you may be eligible to apply for.

  • Alumni postgraduate scholarships worth 20% of tuition fees for University of Brighton alumni
  • Scholarships for international students, some worth up to £2,500.
  • PGCE, NHS and social work bursaries.

Modern campuses in great locations

The university has three campuses in Brighton.

We’ve invested heavily in the equipment and facilities, transforming our Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton with new spaces for our students to study, live and socialise. Students use industry-standard facilities designed to build real-world, professional skills they can use throughout their careers. Wherever you’re based you’ll be near the sea and countryside and within easy reach of London.

Brighton is one of the most diverse and popular cities in the UK. With festivals, museums, a lively arts and music scene and independent cafes and shops, Brighton has a forward-thinking attitude which makes it a brilliant place to live and study.

Accommodation

The university’s accommodation team is on hand to help you find the right place to live. Housing options include halls of residence, university-managed housing, privately rented accommodation and homestay with a local family.

International postgraduate students are guaranteed a place in halls of residence in their first year as long as they apply before the accommodation deadline.

Support for you

We don’t just want you to succeed, we want you to feel good too; in yourself and your life, as well as your studies. Your support network at Brighton will include academic supervision, study skills workshops, career planning, counselling, disability support and orientation programmes for international students.
