University of DerbyWe understand that those looking for postgraduate study often have other responsibilities such as a family or employment, which is why we offer flexible learning options to help you work your studies around your lifestyle. You can choose to study full-time, part-time or online for both postgraduate and professional courses. We also offer start dates inSeptember and January, and April for online courses.
Those who studied with us for an undergraduate degree are entitled to a 10% discount from their postgraduate tuition fees, and those who didn't could be eligible for a £1,000 excellence bursary. Tuition fees vary course to course so it's a good idea to find your course on our website to check out what you'll be expected to pay. What next?Order a prospectus Our facilities & coursesOur excellent facilitiesWe have invested £100 million into our facilities in the last few years to ensure you have the best resources during your studies with us. You'll benefit from modern facilities that make your course more interesting and exciting with a focus on studying in a working environment. Our Clinical Skills Suite has resources that are of NHS standard, and law students benefit from our 350-person courtrooms - an ideal place to work on your advocacy and negotiation skills. Our courses are flexible so you can tailor a course around your lifestyle and work commitments. Starting dates include September, January and April (for online courses). You can also choose how you'd like to study - full-time, part-time or online so you can make your postgraduate or professional course work for you. We work closely with key industry professionals who help us update our courses so they reflect the latest industry thinking. You'll also complete your studies within a working environment for many courses. Buxton has excellent facilities such as the Spa at the Dome which is a purpose-built environment for training and treatment for our MA International Spa Management course, and also The Restaurant at the Dome that is fully managed by our own students for our MA International Hospitality Management. Our friendly student support team offers help and advice from issues concerning your wellbeing as a student to information on how to further your career after you graduate. The Academy Bar with its indoor and outdoor seating is run by our Student Union. You can come here to take a break from your studies and enjoy a range of hot food and drinks with indoor and outdoor seating. Other than the Academy bar there are also various eateries, a newsagent, Blends coffee shop and a Waterstones store where you can buy all the textbooks you need. Key Dates
Fees & Financial SupportGraduates studying at the University of Derby for their undergraduate degrees are entitled to a 10% discount on their fees. Our professional courses are also eligible for this discount, including CIMD, CIM, CIPS, CIMA and ACCA. Our Masters degrees in computing, management and law offer an excellence bursary for those that didn't study with us for their undergraduate degrees. This entitles the applicant to £1,000 towards the cost of their course fees. The government can offer loans and grants to financially support you should you be interested in a course in teaching, social work or healthcare. But if you want to study for a PGCE or the Professional Graduate Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, you need to apply through the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR). Places for PGCE courses fill up quickly so applications usually close after 1 December in the year before you're planning to start the course. Contact Details
