The Innovative UniversityThe University of Gloucestershire is a community of learning. With nearly 200 years of experience in education we are centred on the creation of new learning opportunities. We believe that education - whether technical, professional or artistic is the key to growth for both the individual and for society. We offer a wide range of taught and research based postgraduate courses, from masters degrees to PhDs. We offer full-time, part-time, distance and Executive Personalised Learning, and although you have four years to do so you can complete a masters degree in a year. Our professional courses can help improve your career prospects while the Graduate Diploma can help you convert your previous studies.
Transforming your lifeOur student services team are here to offer you support. Our Helpzones are staffed with advisers who can help you with academic or personal queries, from financial advice to childcare, we'll do all we can to help you get the most out of living and learning with us. We're one of only a few universities to achieve the Matrix standard in recognition of the quality of our student services team. FacilitiesThe diversity of teaching, learning and assessment methods means that in turn there is a wide variety of resources available. Each campus has a learning centre open seven days a week during term time, which deliver free internet and email access, library, computing and media support services. "The Learning Centre facilities were a revelation to me, especially the ability to access journal articles from home. And the input from lecturers is comprehensive, if you need resources, then they are very keen to help. I have had very positive results from my current studies and I am now getting interviews for more senior positions." World-leading research
We have a vibrant academic community where research, together with leading scholarship are conducted at a high level. The government's 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) results for Higher Education institutions shows that the university has work of 'world-leading' quality in five of its research areas. We have a number of research institutes pursuing topics of strategic importance to Gloucestershire and the surrounding region. Our research degrees offer you the opportunity to work on your individual research topic alongside experienced researchers and supervisors.
A sustainable futureOur commitment to sustainability has led us to be acknowledged as a sector leader. We were ranked as No.1 in the Green People and Planet League of Universities (2008) and awarded a Green Gown for Continuous Improvement (2008). We have an institutional commitment to sustainability and work to embed sustainability across all our plans and activities. It's not just about challenging unsustainable practice, but about changing ways of thinking and mindsets, creating promising futures for all.
