We hold over 2.8million printed items, plus extensive online resources and our Special Collections are recognised as collections of outstanding international importance by the Arts council.
Our specialist Language Centre offers year-round English language courses to support international students before and during studies, with access to learning materials in over 40 different languages. The Edge is our state-of-the-art fitness, sport and well-being facility which includes a 25m 8-lane swimming pool and the largest fitness suite of any UK university. Leeds University Union is located at the heart of our campus and houses not only a host of shops, cafes and meeting rooms, but also provides support to all our students on everything from academic and pastoral support to housing and finances. AccommodationAdapting to life in a new place can be both exciting and challenging. Finding somewhere to live where you feel comfortable will help you settle in quickly, and Leeds has plenty of accommodation options for you to choose from. Located only a few minutes' walk from campus, St Marks Residences is currently under construction and will open in September 2013. Offering over 500 en-suite bedrooms, gardens and common areas, St Marks will be for postgraduate students only. City LifeLeeds has all you can expect from a major city and is surrounded by beautiful, accessible countryside. Our campus is located just a few minutes' walk from Leeds city centre, giving you all the benefits of studying at a campus University and living close to a lively cosmopolitan city. Leeds is famous in the UK not only as a major shopping destination, but also for our proud sporting tradition and is home to teams such as Leeds united Football Club, Yorkshire Cricket Club, and the Leeds Rhinos Rugby club. The city also has a vibrant cultural life, including theatres, art galleries and museums, with the 13,500 seat Leeds Arena due to open in 2013. Leeds is one of the greenest cities in Britain with more parkland than any other European city.
