Taught Courses

Discover World-Class Facilities

We continually invest in our facilities to provide everything a busy student needs.

Our award-winning David Wilson Library provides state-of-the-art study facilities, including self-service loan and return, hundreds of PCs, netbook loans, group study rooms, wireless connectivity throughout, staffed Help Zones, 24hr access, plus a bookshop and a cafe. We invest over £6m a year in the library, and there is a digital library of thousands of electronic journals and over 350,000 ebooks.

The recently refurbished Percy Gee Students' Union building is the social hub of campus and a great place to catch up with friends. It provides superb resources for students and societies, and houses three fantastic music venues that make up O2 Academy Leicester. Recent gigs include Professor Green, Jake Bugg and local heroes, Kasabian.

We have invested more than £10m in our sports facilities at Manor Road (the student village) and on main campus. Opened in 2012, you can enjoy a swim in one of our pool, work up a sweat in the modern gyms or luxuriate in the spa pool, steam rooms and sauna.

Leicester is the tenth largest city in Britain. Situated at the heart of England, Leicester is well connected - just70 minutes from London by train and 30 minutes from an international airport. It's ideal for days out to explore the UK.

Leicester is renowned for its diversity and this is celebrated through a magnificent array of festivals and events. Leicester's Diwali celebrations are the largest outside India, the vibrant Caribbean Carnival is a summer fixture and the long-running Leicester Comedy Festival attracts the biggest acts on the circuit.

You can explore Leicester's excellent museums and art galleries, including the award-winning National Space Centre; take in a show at Curve or enjoy the sumptuous surroundings of the Showcase Cinema De Lux.

Shopaholics love Highcross - 350,000 square metres of retail therapy, cafés and bars, whilst the largest covered market in Europe and the boutiques of Leicester Lanes offer something a little bit different.

Music lovers are spoilt by gigs and concerts at venues across the city, including De Montfort Hall, O₂ Academy Leicester and the three-day Music Festival - the Summer Sundae Big Weekender.

Leicester has a rich sporting heritage. Leicester Tigers is the most successful rugby club in England, Leicester City Football Club has a colourful history and the County Cricket Club takes part in major county competitions. The Leicester Riders Basketball Club has achieved recent success, winning national league and cup competitions in 2013.
