Our Summer Internships start at the end of June 2017 and run for nine weeks. Our schemes are based throughout our network of 20 UK offices.

Actuarial Summer Internship
Our Actuarial summer internship will help you to develop your skills, gain insightful practical experience and make more informed decisions about your future career.

The internship will involve a mix of project work and operational tasks and past interns have been involved in areas such as modelling motor pricing policies based on a number of variables to conducting statistical reviews of claims made by our customers.

This scheme is based in Guildford and/or London.

Insurance Claims Summer Internship
Claims is a vast and vital part of the organisation. Our dedicated, friendly claims team deliver on our promise by helping people to rebuild their lives. You’ll be making an incredibly important impact from day one. Through industry-leading, hands-on training; through managing varied, challenging caseloads and interacting with key external partners, you’ll develop a wide range of technical, commercial and leadership skills that are vital to your development, and the business.

This scheme is based in Milton Keynes, Guildford, Bristol or Birmingham

Technical Summer Internship
As an Allianz Technical Summer Intern you can be assured that life will never be dull, each day will be different and you will never stop learning and evolving! Underwriting is the foundation of any insurance company and the quality of our underwriters is pivotal to Allianz’s success as one of the market’s leading insurers. The internship will give you exposure you need to develop your career in this crucial and exciting area.

This scheme is based in one of our branch offices, located in Southampton, Liphook, Woking, Leeds, Luton, Manchester or Birmingham.

Finance Summer Internship
In a company with a strong financial performance like ours, it’s safe to say that the finance team has its work cut out. As a finance graduate you will work dynamic and friendly team spread across three key areas: core accounting (accounts payable, cashiers or management accounts), financial accounting (within a business division) and other accounting (internal audit, tax or group accounts). You’ll spend a year in each area, working on exciting challenges and gaining hands-on, hard-to-beat experience from day one.

This scheme is based in Guildford

Operations Summer Internship
As an Allianz Operations Summer Intern you’ll been exposed to our busy call centre or head office environment, you’ll develop a ‘big picture’ view of how our company operates in your nine weeks. The internship will help you gain an in-depth insight into the customer journey from quote through to claim, and why the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Our scheme covers three business areas, motor and home insurance in Bristol, head office operations in Guildford and PetPlan, our market leading Pet Insurance product in Brentford. Each day will be different and you will never stop learning and evolving!

Operations forms the foundation of our business and has a wide and varied choice of careers, from front facing customer service to MI analysis, operational management support and business change. We’ll give you real ownership of challenging tasks and you’ll leave knowing you’ve really contributed to our goals. This coupled with amazing support from your line manager and the rest of the team, you’ll be part of something big from day one.

This scheme is based in Bristol, Brentford or Guildford.

Person requirements

Qualifications and experience requirements

Actuarial Summer Internship

  • On course for a 2:1 or above in a numerate or business related degree
  • Minimum 340 UCAS points (or equivalent)
  • A-level maths at grade A or above (or equivalent)
  • Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK

Insurance Claims Summer Internship

  • On course for a 2:1 or above in any honours degree
  • First-rate communication and interpersonal skills
  • Min 300 UCAS points (or equivalent)
  • Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK

Technical Summer Internship

  • On course for a 2:1 or above, preferably business related or numerically based) in any honours degree
  • Great communication skills
  • An analytical mind, strong numerical skills
  • Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK

Finance Summer Internship

  • On course for a 2:1 degree or above in accountancy and finance, business studies, economics, maths or physics
  • Min 300 UCAS points (excl. AS Levels and general studies) or equivalent
  • A-level maths (A minimum) or equivalent
  • GCSE maths B min and English B min
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK

Operations Summer Internship

  • Great communication skills and an open minded approach
  • A customer focused mindset
  • On course for minimum 2:1 degree (in any discipline)
  • Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK
