Job description

Being a consultant is about understanding how you fit into the bigger picture.

Working in a diverse team of consultants you’ll be cultivating a deep understanding of our sectors building long-term relationships with clients and colleagues and finding ways to improve ways in which we work. You’ll be responsible for your own deliverables, liaising with clients and given every opportunity to build your skillsets.

Our graduate programmes are three years and are centrally managed and focused on the professional charterships we support.

If you are interested in a cost consulting opportunity you will be working across cost and commercial and transformational consultancy, those who wish to work in commercial teams but also have an interest in digital transformation.

Those pursuing careers in Cost & Commercial will have the option to explore a different business area after year 1 through a six-month secondment within the same programme i.e. consulting, however this is not a mandatory requirement.

Our Cost Consulting opportunities do have a technical bias as follows:

  • Assisting in the preparation of reports following site inspections
  • Providing recommendations on compliance
  • Assisting in the preparation of pricing documents in accordance with methods of measurement
  • Preparation of tender and contract documentation
  • Undertaking measurement and estimating or cost plans and post contract cost reporting
  • Attending site meetings to provide progress updates, including undertaking interim payments as per the contract
  • Provide regular cost reports to clients and all negotiations to do with final accounts

What we are looking for

To be considered for this programme you will need to be able to demonstrate an interest in Cost Consulting and the built and natural environment and on course for achieving a 2:1 in your degree or equivalent. We welcome students from all degree backgrounds for this programme. Those who would like to work in property will be supported through an MSc conversion course you would then follow your APC to chartership.
