Right now, we're looking for a Graduate digital designer to join our Advanced Digital Engineering team to help develop our digital consulting business across a wide range of relevant sectors.
You will have the drive to excel as a digital designer and enjoy the challenges and the satisfaction that accompany success. You will join our existing team of user researchers, user interface/interaction designers, web developers, and product managers. You will help with an expanding workload and will offer complementary and new skills to growing the area of user-centred design in Arup.
The position will be based in London, but it is expected that the successful candidate will be willing to travel to other offices (including international locations) and work there for short periods.

What we are looking for
You will be an experienced practitioner in one or more of service design, user experience design, interaction design, technology-led prototyping or equivalent design disciplines.
You should be an innovative problem solver, someone who thinks ‘outside the box' and who is able to communicate ideas and solutions. You should have a positive and forward-thinking approach and enjoy working as part of a friendly and supportive team. Workload will be diverse and the ability to multi-task and manage your workload is important.
An enquiring mind is key to our approach, as we work across numerous diverse contexts. You will be able to assimilate such new contexts rapidly, and to use various design techniques to help make sense of them, for colleagues, clients and collaborators.

You will have a strong academic background such as a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, digital design, user experience design or virtual technology (2:1 or higher) or demonstrated work experience in digital design. You should have a portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to think critically, create, and test digital designs.
We are particularly keen to meet people with an interest in storytelling with data. Experience with data-driven narratives, data visualisation, or similar is desired.
