Finance Graduate

Job description

Our people-centred culture combined with our tech and data expertise makes us one of the UK’s leading companies and a great place to start your career in finance.

We’ve pushed hierarchy aside to make way for a modern and collaborative approach that is definitely not the usual for an FTSE250 company. Our Finance Tribe act as trusted business partners and provide insightful information and analysis to help the business make brilliant strategic and operational decisions.

All of our graduates start their journey at our in-house academy. You don't have to be a car enthusiast to work here so upon joining; we'll grow your knowledge of the automotive industry so you can truly understand our customers and what we do as a business. You'll develop into a qualified finance professional through hands-on experience and fantastic development opportunities. You will also collaborate with the graduate cohort to complete cross-functional projects and attend workshops that will allow you to gain strategic insight into our business and our operating priorities.

We’ll support this further with conferences, graduate network and one-to-one coaching and mentoring. As you progress through the programme, you’ll be invited to help our community through STEM Ambassador initiatives, mentoring and volunteering days.

As a graduate, you’ll rotate around a number of placements within Finance. You’ll start your journey in Core Finance Services and spend time in other areas including Management Reporting. Depending on where your passion lies you’ll then have opportunities for placements in more specialist areas such as Commercial Finance, Governance, Financial Reporting or Pricing. As part of your development, you’ll be completing either the ACCA or CIMA qualification via a level 7 Apprenticeship in Accountancy/Taxation, the choice of qualification will be your decision.

To be successful in the role you’ll need a strong academic background, be commercially minded, highly numerate with a keen interest in finance and will be confident working autonomously. Your natural curiosity will allow you to understand complex problems quickly. This, coupled with your enthusiastic and analytical approach to problem-solving, will have resulted in you delivering innovative solutions and outcomes.

We offer a salary between £25,000 - £27,000 and an excellent flexible benefits package including group pension scheme, healthcare and the option to buy or sell holidays.

Everyone is unique in their own way, and we are looking for people from all walks of life to become part of our inclusive culture. We’re committed to making Auto Trader a diverse and inclusive environment for everyone.

Diversity for us means respect for and appreciation of differences in gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, race and ethnic origin, religion and faith, marital status, social, educational background and way of thinking. Our dedication is to ensure you get the chance to be the best that you can be, showcase your full potential and make the right choice for you.
