Accountancy and Finance Programme

Job description

With annual revenue of over £5.2bn in 2019, it’s fair to say our finances need just as much expertise as our projects. Over three years, you’ll get to grips with the complexities of company-based accounting and financial management. What’s more, we’ll cover the costs and support you along the way to get your prestigious CIMA Chartered Management Accountant qualification.

Where you can join us

Places on our Accountancy and Finance programme for Autumn 2020 are available in our Group sector. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

What you'll be doing

You’ll gain the broadest exposure to company-based accounting and financial management. This will span both management accounting (with both overhead and project experience) and business tax accounting. You’ll work on projects across many different sectors, which will give you the kind of experiences and insights that are very hard to come by.

Every step of the way, you will be mentored towards Chartered Management Accountants status. We’ll support you to gain Associate of Chartered Management Accountants (ACMA) status, offered by CIMA. You’ll learn either through a tuition provider or via distance learning.

The company uses Kaplan to support our finance graduates through their CIMA studies and you will complete this utilising the Level 7 Accounting/Taxation Professional – CIMA Masters Degree apprenticeship standard.

What you'll get out of it

In a phrase: Chartered Management Accountant status. We’ll pay for you to get your qualification with CIMA and assign you a mentor to help you get there – with a competitive starting salary of £30.6k. In return, we expect you to attain chartership.

What we are looking for

You’ll need a 2:1 (Hons) degree in accountancy and finance, economics, science or engineering, with a good A-Level in maths. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
