Bids & Proposal Apprenticeship
This is an apprenticeship scheme with the purpose of developing the Proposal Managers of the future. In this role, you will be a key member of the business winning team and will be supported to develop and apply academic knowledge of bid and proposal management.
Proposal management involves ensuring the submission of strong proposals to our customers. This includes written proposal documents such as Invitations to Tender (ITT), prequalification’s (PQQ’s), expressions of interest and value propositions. Proposal management also includes constructing bid submissions and ensuring the production of well-structured responses to client requirements with pre-agreed solutions.
Possible placements
Typically, the type of work the Apprentice will be involved in includes assisting in the co-ordination of PQQ’s and tender responses. The apprentice will work closely with project teams and professionals within the business development and bidding team including attending bid solutions meetings and contributing to the bid library of quality written submission templates. They will have the opportunity to contribute ideas towards the continuous improvement.
The apprentice will gain a solid foundation within a professional proposal and tender management environment and have the opportunity to learn from experienced and friendly individuals.
The training will include practical and on the job training as well as the completion of the Bid and Proposals Level 3 qualification.
Apprentices also attend college to complete a nationally recognised Level 5 qualification.
What you’ll need
- Security clearance: Security Check (SC)
- A minimum of five GCSE’s at Grade 4 (C) or above including English, science, and maths at Grade 5 (B) or above
- Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level before taking the end-point assessment.
The apprentice must demonstrate the core requirements below and also demonstrate the specialist requirements in their chosen role.

Level 3 Bid and Proposal Co-ordinator Apprenticeship Standard
The apprentice would be eligible to apply to join the Association of Bid and Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).
