Cavendish Nuclear Civil and Structural Engineering Summer Placement

Job description

Cavendish Nuclear is the UK’s leading nuclear services company, with ambitious plans for growth at home and abroad. We’re a wholly-owned subsidiary of Babcock International Group, delivering complex projects across the nuclear lifecycle. Our work includes supporting delivery of new build nuclear power plants, extending the working-life of existing nuclear plants and safely decommissioning legacy sites. Whether on our own or with one of our partners, we apply proven experience and trusted expertise to deliver complex programmes safer, faster, at lower cost. Based out of Bristol or Birchwood, we offer Civil and Structural Engineering summer internships for candidates who can demonstrate impressive technical and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to new circumstances. To ensure you get the most out of the experience, you’ll be assigned a buddy and mentor, have regular performance reviews and attend sessions to develop key skills such as communicating for impact and career management.

What you'll get out of it

You’ll have plenty of opportunity to visit our other sites and meet placement students from across the company at the Cavendish Nuclear Discover and Develop Sessions. During your time with us, you’ll meet a range of people, from graduates to directors, who will share their experiences and expand your industry knowledge. If you have a successful summer with us, you’ll be fast-tracked through the graduate assessment process.

What we are looking for

You’ll need to be a penultimate year student due to graduate in 2021, studying a civil engineering degree or similar. Successful candidates will also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements.
