Communications Engineering Apprenticeship

Job description

Work for the world you want to live in.

Wouldn’t you want to live in a world where people, populations and the planet thrive? Where technology protects rather than threatens. Where societies feel safe and secure. Where cities and continents feel part of one global community.

We’re an international aerospace, defence and security company, with sites all-round the UK, that do loads of exciting and important things to make the world safer and more secure. We defend nations, save lives and protect communities around the globe.

The location of these roles will be in one of our Satellite Sites across the UK. Due to their remote locations, the suitable candidate will need access to their own transport in order to get to work each day. The exact location of the roles can be confirmed prior to the interview stage. Where possible, we will match the candidate to the location closest to their home base or preferred location. The suitable candidate may need to relocate to be closer to their employing site

This role is within the Marine Sector of Babcock International Group, which delivers a wide array of complex through-life marine engineering services to defence and civil customers across the globe. These range from UK and international naval fleet support, commercial marine, engineering consultancy, weapons handling, equipment support, intelligence, cyber security and training.

Mission Systems forms a critical, and growing part of Babcock’s Marine organisation. Our dynamic and motivated leadership team is committed to an exciting transformation agenda that will help Mission Systems to innovate, modernise and create a more people-focussed business that can support our customers’ mission. Working across a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, Mission Systems employs approximately 1,600 people across the UK and overseas with the largest sites based in Bristol, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Ashchurch.

For more than a century, Babcock, the Aerospace and Defence Company, has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services. We help customers in the UK and around the world to improve the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets within the four market sectors of Marine, Land, Aviation, and Nuclear, underpinned by a deep understanding of technology integration, unique infrastructure and specialist training.
