Data Analytics Programme

Job description

We’re based at 268 sites across the UK – and many more around the world. That means we have a major infrastructure to maintain. On this two-year programme, you’ll gain insight into all our core activities including service delivery, project management, procurement, security, strategic development, ERP systems, and software and asset management.

Where you can join us

Places on our Data Analytics programme for Autumn 2020 are available in our Marine sector. You could be based anywhere in the UK, that’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

What you'll be doing

Babcock is an advanced user of information and decision support analytics. Through the provision of our information support and exploitation teams, we provide information and decision support at the point of need. This directly enables the most critical parts of our business to make decisions when they count. Working within the Analytics stream you’ll have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects building your core IX/IM capabilities, as well as developing broader skills along the way. Capability areas include: mathematical modelling and simulation, advanced statistical analysis, predictive analysis, web development, data visualisation, information related technology development and strategy development. Along the way, you’ll partner up with a lot of different teams within Babcock and learn from them as you go.

What you'll get out of it

A senior manager will take you under their wing and help you navigate the challenges and develop your professional skills. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a competitive starting salary of £29k - £31k and on-the-job training that’s hard to beat.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a 2:1 (Hons) degree in mathematics, physics, statistics, operational research and or computer science. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
