Job description
Electrical and Electronic Engineering is everywhere. From fitting-out advanced warship systems to designing cutting-edge augmented reality products, we provide our customers with better capability, reliability and availability for their critical assets. You’ll spend between two to four years getting involved in anything from defence engineering to complex nuclear projects.
Main purpose of role
Working in a discipline of such fundamental importance means that you could work on anything. You could be on the team designing submarines, refitting warships, or helping to build the UK’s next generation of nuclear power plants. The possibilities are endless. Day-to-day, you could find yourself working on electrical power distribution or electrical control and instrumentation, involving both analogue and digital systems. Our graduates get involved in everything from concept design and AutoCAD layouts to testing, installation, commissioning and handover to clients. You may even find yourself managing projects and leading your own team.
What you'll get
When your part of the team at Babcock, we think it’s only right that you’re properly rewarded for the contribution you make and the hard work you put in. That’s why, in addition to a highly competitive salary, you can look forward to generous pension and employee share schemes, and a whole host of other flexible benefits. These include things like access to our healthcare cash plan, Wellbeing Centre and discounts on everything from gym membership and travel to retail, dining and entertainment. You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our STEM outreach and volunteering activities, which our graduates find incredibly rewarding in all sorts of other ways.
Your career development
Here at Babcock, you’ll see the importance of our projects and the work of electrical and electronic engineers like you. And we’ll be completely behind you as you work towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
