Marine Industrial Placement (Plymouth)

Job description

If you’re due to take a placement in industry as part of your degree, we can offer you invaluable real-world experience through our Industrial Placement scheme. We offer a range of benefits including the opportunity to earn whilst you learn, develop invaluable business skills and take a step towards your full-time career.

What you'll be doing
As part of the Marine sector, our 5,500-strong business based out of Plymouth is a strategic partner of the MOD and the Royal Navy. We undertake 100% of submarine refits as well as 75% of UK surface fleet refits and 50% of fleet maintenance work. As a result, we’re looking to recruit talented, enthusiastic and driven people to join our team. You could be based in one of our design offices working with our submarine or warship design teams. Or we may even put you on a project management placement where you’ll be liaising with multiple teams.

What you'll get out of it
During your time with us, we’ll help you develop a variety of skills and give you a chance to work with supportive and knowledgeable professionals giving you a wider variety of experiences for you to take back to university.

What we are looking for

You’ll need to be studying a STEM-based degree and heading for a minimum of a 2:2 degree. Successful candidates will also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
