Marine (Process) Summer Placement

Job description

Babcock is a provider of critical engineering services that are integral to our customers’ operations. Our technology, willingness to innovate and track record of improving efficiency provide us with a unique market position. At our Rosyth site, we’re specialists in the design and engineering of complex marine platforms, as well as the lead contractor for the UK Submarine Dismantling Programme and world leaders in the development and supply of Gas Systems. You could be involved in any of these extraordinary engineering projects or maybe get involved in something completely new. As long as you are bursting with ideas and enthusiasm, we’ll have something for you to get your teeth into.

What you'll get out of it

During the summer placement, you’ll get the opportunity to work in a department relevant to your degree subject so you can start putting theory into practice. You can expect to work on current projects where you’ll have a real input and learn how to work safely in a workplace environment.

What we are looking for

You’ll need to be in year three (or above) in your studies of a relevant degree in chemical engineering. Successful candidates will also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements and may need to complete a medical assessment.
