Marine Summer Placement (Bristol or Leicester)

Job description

Get an incredible summer experience or immerse yourself in our world for a year. It’s not just graduates who get to experience the extraordinary things we do at Babcock. These 10 to 12-week internships over the summer holiday give you the opportunity to try out a discipline and see if it’s something you want to do once you graduate.

What you'll be doing
As part of the Marine sector, our 1,200-strong Defence Systems Technology business based out of Bristol/Leicester works on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, with a number of key clients domestically and internationally. As a result, we’re looking to recruit talented, enthusiastic and driven people to join our team.

During your summer placement, which starts in June and lasts for up to 12 weeks, you’ll work as a member of a multidisciplinary, professional engineering team and have the opportunity to contribute to the business straight away. To succeed in this role, it’s essential that you have a positive attitude, as well as a creative and inquisitive approach to problem solving.

What you'll get out of it
During your time with us, we’ll help you develop a variety of skills and give you a chance to work with supportive and knowledgeable professionals.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for undergraduates who are on track for a 2:1. We’ll also want you to demonstrate a real interest in engineering and have excellent interpersonal skills. In addition, you should be self-motivated, energetic and keen to learn and develop.
