Do you know how many parts go into an aircraft carrier? Millions. And into a submarine? Or a nuclear power plant? Everything we do is mind-bogglingly huge and incredibly complex, so our supply chain is world class. Over the two years of this programme, you’ll learn about how we find what we need, partner up with suppliers and make sure our contracts keep everyone on track.
Where you can join us
You can find out more about the areas of our business offering places on the Procurement Management programme for autumn 2017 on our website. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.
What you'll be doing
As procurement touches every kind of project, you might work in any part of our business. You might find yourself on the team bidding for huge contracts or managing ones we have already won. You might be spotting opportunities for us to do more with less or get more for less. Whatever it is, it will be complex and will make a big difference to important public services.
What you'll get out of it
You’ll see the price tag behind every element of our epic projects and develop an understanding of whether it’s a good deal or not. With that kind of commercial insight, lots of great roles will be open to you at Babcock after the programme. And while you’re on it, you’ll enjoy a competitive starting salary.
Applications for this programme are currently open. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you apply sooner rather than later as we work on a rolling basis and where we experience large volumes of applications, we will close the role early.
Qualifications and experience requirements
You’ll need a 2:2 (Hons) degree in business, economics, law or a related subject. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment) and have a full, clean UK driving licence.
