At the heart of many of the systems that we create from scratch for customers, you’ll find high performance software. Our software is highly engineered to meet far-reaching requirements. From harsh environments to complex architectures and strict information assurance, our software needs to be proven and reliable and fully integrated into the architecture of an electronic or electro-mechanical system. And on this programme, you’ll learn how to do it.
Where you can join us
See the list below to find out more about the areas of our business that are offering places on our Software Engineering programme for autumn 2017. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.
What you'll be doing
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll need to look at the big picture and understand how the software interacts with the system and its interfaces. You could be working on a huge variety of different projects, large and small. You could focus on something as small as an audio console for a communications project. Or you could work on something as large as a handling system on the UK’s largest-ever aircraft carriers. Whatever you work on, you’ll be closely involved in the design, specification and test of software and associated systems.
What you'll get out of it
The range of work you’ll cover will help you figure out where you excel. And once you know that, we’ll help you go as far as you can. We’ll support you as you work to become an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer and give you a competitive starting salary.
Applications for this programme are currently open. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you apply sooner rather than later as we work on a rolling basis and where we experience large volumes of applications, we will close the role early.
Qualifications and experience requirements
This programme is accredited by the IET and IMechE, so you’ll need a 2:1 BEng (Hons) degree that is accredited by one of those institutions too. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
