Job description

An Industrial Placement within Electronic Systems (Rochester) performs a pivotal role within the Rochester business. This includes all product lifecycle aspects from concept through design, development and into service of leading edge avionic product designs for the Electronic Systems Rochester product portfolio. This will include flight control computers, active inceptors for fixed wing and rotary aircraft, head up and helmet mounted displays and mission computing. This will cover both analogue and digital designs including FPGA development. A successful candidate will gain exposure to leading edge designs using state of the art tool sets, processes and methodologies.

What you will be doing

As detailed above an Industrial Placement will be a member of an integrated product team responsible for the delivery against the project lifecycle aspects above. During the one-year placement you will be exposed these lifecycle aspects within a design development. These will both grow your technical skills and business understanding supporting your future development within the business.

What we are looking for

You must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance.


You’ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 bachelor’s degree. Preferred degree disciplines include electronics, electronics in combination with electrical/computing/physics, computer systems engineering.
