An opportunity has arisen for an industrial placement within the BAE Systems Engineering department to carry out a range of engineering based activities in a dynamic environment. This role will be based out of our site in Rochester

What you will be doing… (role duties and responsibilities)
As an IT Summer Intern your main responsibilities will involve:
- Developing new and enhanced functionality for business applications and software tools
- Tailoring, configuring and supporting third party COTS tools
- Identifying the root causes of support issues and working to increase end user knowledge of existing business applications and software tools
- Working as part of the wider IT team to help focus improvements in customer experience

What we are looking for
- Knowledge of application development in one or more languages or tools
- Knowledge of SQL or Oracle database technologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and organised
You will also need to be available for the full 12 weeks.
To join our business or engineering summer internship schemes you must be on course for at least a 2:2 bachelor's degree in a related subject.
For finance, you must be on course for at least a 2:1 bachelor's degree in a related subject and also have 112 UCAS points (as per the 2017 UCAS tariff) or equivalent, excluding general studies.
For summer internship roles in cyber security you must be on course for at least a 2:1 bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering or maths subject and also have 128 UCAS points (as per the 2017 UCAS tariff) or equivalent, excluding general studies.
