An opportunity has arisen for a Summer Internship within BAE Systems Engineering department to carry out a range of engineering based activities in a dynamic environment. This role will be based out of our site in Rochester.

What you will be doing
As a Summer Intern within Mechanical engineering your main activities will involve:-
- Completing design schemes, detail designs and verification tasks (e.g. calculations, tolerance studies, clearance checks, fastener definition)
- Liaising with technical specialists as required
- Preparing and checking drawings, correct to required standards, that reflect design intent, and that adequately define parts for manufacture and inspection
- Supporting other Mechanical Engineers with tasks and activities as required
- Maintaining awareness of, and adhere to, applicable BAE Systems policies and procedures

What we are looking for
As a Summer Intern within Mechanical engineering your skills will ideally include:
- A proven ability in design, problem solving and reporting
- Strong team working and communication skills
To apply, you’ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree. Accepted degrees: BEng or MEng in mechanical engineering, or a related engineering degree covering mechanics, dynamics and vibration, structures and stress, thermodynamics, and mechanical systems.
