Job description

If you’re interested in the scientific and technical aspects of food manufacture, this programme offers a brilliant springboard into a lasting career. Join Bakkavor in this fascinating area, and you’ll find yourself working with teams across our business to ensure we develop and manufacture safe, high-quality products.

Over two 12-month placements, you’ll help determine what can and can’t be done with processes and technology. You’ll work with New Product Development, Production, Purchasing and many other departments to find innovative solutions to all kinds of issues. Expect to gain key skills in everything from food safety, food labelling and microbiology to internal auditing and factory hygiene. Not to mention management and leadership. After two years, you’ll join us in a permanent role, giving you the potential to grow into a Technical Manager.

As well as a salary of £24,500, you’ll receive an additional £1000 payment when you start, plus another £1000 if you successful complete your first year. We’ll also cover the costs for two weeks B&B or rent, plus reasonable removal costs. Our sites are located throughout the UK and your placements could take you from the south of England to Scotland. There may even be the chance to work in one of our international sites. So you’ll need to be flexible.
