The IT team are responsible for building and maintaining our technology for over 2,500 Boots stores in the UK. Boots IT is split in to three main functions – Design, Build and Run. In the Boots IT delivery team we turn ideas into IT solutions, from identifying technology changes through to testing and roll-out of the new technology solutions.

You’ll start your journey within one of our UK stores. This will help you to understand the heart of our business and the part you’ll play in making our customers feel good.
What you’ll be doing on the programme
You’ll be given a broad experience and the opportunity to develop your technical skills across a range of technologies within the IT delivery team. We operate against a broad technology stack supporting our whole retail and pharmacy businesses both in-store and online. These range from classic point of sale and supply systems, across standard .Net and Java stacks and through to more modern platforms such as Salesforce and Hadoop. We constantly assess our systems and market trends to ensure that we have the right systems for the right purposes.
Rotations may include time spent in one or more of the following area:
You will be responsible managing and building test environments to support the testing of complex systems in an ever changing technical landscape.
You will be responsible for delivering IT solutions that meet the requirements and can be supported effectively. This includes designing, coding, unit testing and initial support. The role requires technical ability, attention to detail and good communication skills
You will help analyse and resolve technical issues in the live environment. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage stakeholders in a pressurised environment, and a good ability to present facts supporting root cause and well thought out options for resolving issues

Qualifications and experience requirements
To apply for this role you must be on track or have obtained a 2:1 or above within the last three years.
Ideally we are looking for candidates with degrees in one of the following subjects (or similar), preferably including modules related to code development:
- Computer science
- Electronic and electrical engineering
- Electronic and computer engineering
- Maths/mathematical science
