Educational and Training Services (ETS) Officer

Job description

On completion of officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, ETS Officers start their teacher training at Worthy Down, Winchester, where they enroll on the PGCE with Southampton University.

The first assignment will either be at an Army Education Centre or at the Army Foundation College (Harrogate). They will deliver professional development courses, which focus on the development of written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills; instructor development, and offer more general advice about education pathways.

Subsequent assignments may be to a different education centre, a phase-one Establishment, where they will teach recruits, or on more bespoke courses which focus on leadership development. After six-eight years and completion of the MSc ETS Officers can then progress on to training consultancy roles.
