Job description

Initially, and for the first two years, to command and lead up to 18 SPS specialist soldiers in the delivery of personnel administration. To be the focal point in the unit for all personnel, finance and security matters. To organise and lead on sporting, adventurous training and educational opportunities for staff, and to prepare the Unit for operational deployment.

On subsequent assignment to either a different unit or a soldier training establishment to teach new joiners to become soldiers or to recruiting and engagement roles.

A short service commission allows service for up to 12 years with the opportunity to convert this to longer service periods. True job security.

Training

All SPS officer candidates will have to pass the 44 week Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and then attend an 11 week professional development course at Winchester. New SPS officers are attached to British Army units which may be deployed worldwide.

Qualifications

If you have taken GCSEs: 35 ALIS points from seven subjects and at least grade C/4 in English Language, maths and either science or a foreign language.

72 UCAS points: These points must come from a maximum of two subjects with a minimum of two subjects being at a national level three, not including AS Levels or general studies.
