Senior Social Worker (Community Mental Health)

Job description

We are seeking a registered social worker to join our multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health team in the Links Community Mental Health team, Adamsdown, Cardiff. The Links Centre is situated in the heart of a multi-cultural community and is a large, dynamic team dealing with individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions, their carers and families. This is a full-time post of 37 hours per week.

What we are looking for

  • A comprehensive understanding of the relevant legislation is essential along with experience of working with people with mental health difficulties. Previous experience of working within a mental health setting is preferable and you should have a proven record of supervision of staff.
  • Ideally you will be an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) for which an AMHP payment is applicable.
  • You will be confident at assessing the needs of citizens and their carers and be familiar with the requirements of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
  • You will also be able to undertake risk assessments and develop associated care plans and risk management plans.
  • You should be prepared to undertake appropriate training and be able to work under pressure.
  • A full valid driving licence and the use of a car during working hours are required for which an appropriate allowance will be paid.
