The role

Our Technical graduates play a big part in the solutions that we deliver to our clients and have worked on some of our biggest projects in roles such as; testing, development or cyber security.

We typically have technical graduate vacancies across our various industries, including; local and central government, space, defence and intelligence, energy and utilities, financial services.

However, while you may start in one area of the business, the opportunity to move internally is huge, offering you the opportunity to grow your career, in the direction you want, under a permanent contract

Starting on our ‘Student Recruitment Induction’ programme, the recruitment and learning and development teams will be there to support you during your first couple of years with us.

You will be joining our large early careers community with an opportunity to be involved in our Student Kick-start Initiative working with a team of other graduates on exciting projects alongside your day to day work.

Our sports and social clubs, diversity networks and local office events also provide you with a great chance to relax and enjoy yourself with like-minded members from across CGI.

Due to the nature of our business, you work on ‘projects’. This means you have the opportunity to work across a wide range of roles, industries and locations, there is no ‘typical day’. It really does vary at CGI and that’s the exciting thing, it is up to you to shape and develop your career in the direction you want to go with the support of others.


We recruit graduates into various base locations across the UK. Our main hubs for Technical Graduates are; Aberdeen, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gloucester, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Northern Ireland, Reading, Solihull, South Wales and Surrey.

As CGI is a consultancy, your projects could be based from other locations asides from your base location, and you should therefore be prepared for travel in your role. Each business unit operates from a different range of offices so we would encourage you to think about how flexible you can be.

What we are looking for

You will need to demonstrate a genuine interest and passion for technology. Our Technical Graduates will usually have studied for a computer science or STEM related degree however, we welcome people from all degree backgrounds as long as you have an applied interest in the industry.

Due to the nature of our work and the security clearance requirements of our roles we do require all early careers members to be UK nationals.


Depending on which business unit you would like to join, we will consider students with a minimum 2:2. Some projects seek graduates with a minimum 2:1.
