Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Coordinator (QSHE)

Job description

Come and work for an international fragrance house. Based in the Quality, Safety, Health and Environment department you would be the vital link in coordinating and investigating incidents and complaints. Ensuring Safety standards are met and helping to implement our sustainability strategy. A Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Coordinator provides assistance to the QSHE Manager. They are responsible for coordinating QHSE activities at sites across Europe.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support for maintenance and implementation of quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
  • Investigation and resolution of customer complaints, internal non-conformities and vendor complaints
  • The local representative on the sustainability team, looking to implement operational efficiencies and ensure CPL Aromas meets our sustainability objectives
  • Reporting of gas, electricity and water consumption figures and reconciliation of these against utility bills
  • Participation in and leading internal QSHE system audits and ensure internal audit schedule is maintained
  • Participation in external audits and liaison with external certification bodies
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Liaison with internal departments and external providers to ensure relevant QSHE training and methodology is maintained
  • Ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are carried out
  • Investigation of incidents, analysis of trends and implementation of corrective actions
  • Continuous improvement projects
  • Implementation and interpretation of new knowledge within the Environmental and Health and Safety field
  • Answer long term supplier declarations, customer questionnaires, ethical questionnaires

What we are looking for

  • Experience in health and safety within a manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage
  • A highly organised and professional approach to managing a demanding workload
  • Excellent communication skills to influence decision makers, communicate with internal teams and promote continuous improvement
  • Self- motivated with the ability to show initiative and able to work to deadlines
  • A formal professional qualification in Health and Safety (eg NEBOSH or IOSH) would be preferred but not a prerequisite as it is expected that this will be gained as the individual develops in the role
  • A good eye for detail and statistics
