Customer Project Engineer

Job description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a graduate chemical or mechanical engineer to work within the Fluid Handling division of Crane Co, a US multinational which specialises in highly engineered products in niche markets. This high profile role will project manage every aspect of a major multi-million dollar order, exposing you to a high level of responsibility and visibility with exceptional career opportunities for high performers. The role is within Crane ChemPharma and Energy who design and manufacture a variety of high performance valves.

The breadth of this role, from order intake to delivery, will give you fast development as well as applying your academic and practical expertise in both technical and commercial fields. Responsibilities will include direct interface with customers, processing customer project quotes and orders in a timely and accurate manner, overseeing all technical aspects such as sizing and specifying valves, together with all the commercial aspects of the project and managing the overall completion of the project by co-ordinating the engineering, manufacturing, distributors, subsidiaries, customers and the field sales force to ensure project order requirements are met on time.

Such breadth of responsibility demands an exceptional graduate (or masters/doctorate) engineer who has the confidence to take on new challenges and the humility to learn from others. This may be your first role or you may feel constrained by your current role and want to make a greater overall contribution to a business whilst utilising your technical expertise. You will have excellent project management, organisational and IT skills, and whilst you may not currently have any commercial experience, you will need strong business acumen. You will have outstanding interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills.
