Job description

Sport is a part of who we are. Therefore first and foremost, we are looking for people to join us who are passionate about their sport.

As a Manager in Training we will initiate you into our company through training; your induction period will cover all processes, from Imports and picking, through to ecommerce and expedition. During this time our highly trained teams will pass on their knowledge and experience to you. This is the perfect opportunity for you to ask the right questions and get involved in the daily processes as much as possible.

After your initial training and validation you will be assigned your own department. We expect our managers to run their organisation as if it were their own business: your results are your responsibility. Decathlon’s managers are here to make decisions and actions on a daily basis; we are here to satisfy the customer every time, and to develop a great team.

You will work closely with your team to recruit train and build your perfect human structure of around 15-20 team members. Your challenge is to optimise every step of your activity, with your main KPIs consisting of lead time, quality, productivity and staff happiness, amongst others.

There are many opportunities to develop your skills, and the freedom to organise your activity as you see most effective. However our team of experienced managers are never too far should you need some advice or experience.

Person requirements

  • Sports man or woman
  • Hands on can do approach
  • Ability to coach, mentor and manage a team of 15/20 people
  • Responsible approach to any situation
  • Drive to ensure success at every level

Qualifications and experience requirements

  • Graduated within the last two years (any discipline)
  • Experienced in decision making, organisational skills and managing a team
